The aim of the conference is twofold:
• To present the research and development effort undertaken by the various academic and research establishments for the future penetration of DG solar thermal and PV systems in the power electricity generation industry in European and Mediterranean countries
• To highlight the importance of research and development for the future of the electricity sector in Mediterranean region
