Q: Cyprus car hire. Can I hire a car and be able to drive in the occupied parts of Cyprus?
A: If you plan to rent a car through EasyConferences, please note that the car rental company we co- operate with, allows for the car to pass the UN border. However, the company takes no responsibility in case of loss/damage/vandalism etc, i.e. there is no car insurance coverage beyond the UN border. You will have to arrange for additional insurance at the UN check- point.

A: Kindly note that Ercan airport is not a recognized port of entry into the Republic of Cyprus. Thus, landing there will create problems for you when you try to cross the Green Line (De Facto Border). Furthermore, it should be mentioned that as the occupied North is not a recognized country, this might pose some insurance problems in case of an accident while there.
It is recommended to double-check with the Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs, www.mfa.com.cy before travelling.
