Welcome Reception

Welcome Reception is the first social gathering between all conference delegates and it will take place at the Venue Hotel. It will be a relaxing evening during which delegates will have the opportunity to talk to colleagues and peers, while enjoying local drinks and ample canapés.

The Welcome Reception is included in ALL registration fees.

Conference dinner

Dinner Location: Aphrodite Hills Resort

We will get together at 16:45 at Annabelle hotel lobby (venue), from where we will promptly depart in air-conditioned coaches for a fascinating tour. Experienced professional guides will tell us about the history of Cyprus and Paphos town in particular. We will first visit the Archaeological Museum of Palaipafos which is housed in the eastern wing of the Lusignian Medieval Manor House in the archaeological site of Kouklia village. Our next stop will be at ‘Petra tou Romiou’ for photos. ‘Petra tou Romiou’ is also known as Aphrodite's Rock, the birthplace of Greek goddess Aphrodite. According to legend, the Ancient Greek Goddess of Love and Beauty – Aphrodite – was born of the sea foam here. Legend says that she rose from the waves on a shell and came ashore to this particular beach.

We will then proceed to Aphrodite Hills, a luxurious resort uniquely and scenically located on a plateau overlooking the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite amidst the glittering blue Mediterranean Sea. We will view the majestic views at the bar of the hotel while enjoying our drink during a welcome cocktail. We will then continue for Dinner which will consist of an array of traditional dishes complimented with local drinks and desserts. During dinner we will enjoy an entertaining program with live music and singing performed by a local band and traditional dances performed by a local dance group. Once the live entertainment is complete, we will continue our fun into the night with the sounds of one of the best DJs in Cyprus.

Walking Tour – Paphos Mosaics

Open to all conference participants and spouses.

Saturday, 2nd of April

Departure time: 10:00 (meet at the lobby of Annabelle Hotel - VENUE)

We will gather together in the Annabelle lobby area at 10:00 am, where a “Cyprus Tourism Organization” licensed tour guide will guide us for the next two hours on a trip of 10,000 years of Cyprus history. We will walk to the nearby ‘Roman Villas of Dionysos’, adjacent to the Paphos harbor and Medieval castle where you will see the ploughshare which accidentally uncovered part of a mosaic pavement in 1962. This was the beginning of a series of excavations that finally revealed a total of 22 rooms, 14 of them with mosaic floors representing scenes of hunting and Greek mythology of exquisite beauty and perfect geometry.

Our walking tour will end at around 12:00 noon, with our return to the hotel.

The entire town of Pafos is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site featuring monuments of exquisite and unique beauty. Pafos was the capital of Cyprus for a long period of time in antiquity.

Cyprus has always been related and engaged in marine activities. This mean that Cypriots couldn’t miss being involved in fishing. Fresh fish and seafood has always been part of Cypriots’ Mediterranean diet.

Nicosia Town - FULL DAY EXCURSION

Participation: € 48

Nicosia is the capital of Cyprus and a must for every visitor on the island. Our tour will first lead us to the Cyprus Archaeological Museum where a huge collection of important archaeological findings are housed and through which the long cultural and historical heritage of the island is revealed.
