STRONGNET 2010

 

STRONGnet 2010, the kickoff meeting of the STRONGnet Lattice QCD consortium will be held in Paphos, Cyprus from August 24 to 27, 2010, to review ideas relevant to state-of-the-art lattice QCD calculations.

Participants from the worldwide Lattice QCD community are invited  to present research related to lattice QCD, large N gauge theories, algorithm and hardware development, or other areas of interest to the community.

We emphasize that participation in the STRONGNET 2010 conference is open to all in the lattice QCD community, regardless of whether or not they are affiliated with the Strongnet consortium.

Presentations by STRONGnet's industrial partners will showcase hardware developments related to high-performance scientific computing and applications of numerical techniques to areas of commercial interest

Early-career researchers are especially encouraged to attend. In keeping with STRONGnet's foundation as a Marie Curie Training Network, there will be introductory lattice QCD talks directed specifically towards young researchers.

Venue

The venue at Coral Beach Hotel & Resort on the sea will be conducive to collaborative discussion both during and outside of the program sessions, and will present an opportunity to enjoy Cypriot cuisine and a cooling dip in the Mediterranean.

Registration

The registration fee for STRONGnet 2010 is 200 Euros if paid by 25 July 2010 and 250 Euros after 26 July 2010. This includes the workshop banquet and a local excursion. Limited funds are available to provide partial support to students.

The Lattice QCD group at the University of Cyprus is

the local host of STRONGnet 2010.
