General Information


Since its establishment in 1989, the University of Cyprus has consistently pursued excellence, fulfilling its mission to the Cypriot society. Today, the University is recognized as the most important research and higher education institution of Cyprus, and has also, moreover, been honoured as a 'distinguished Mediterranean University'.

Currently, the University comprises eight Faculties and 22 Departments offering a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate and research study programmes to more than 7000 enrolled students. The University employs over 900 people in its academic and administrative staff.

As the University is now a member of the international network of universities and an active participant in the research community worldwide, our vision is fully realized. New Campus

The new University is located on the outskirts of east Nicosia, between Aglantzia and Athalassa, and covers an area of approximately 1.2 square kilometres. Toward University of Cyprus – New Campus (1 Panepistimiou Ave.)

The conference organizer will provide free bus service to transfer participants to the University of Cyprus (New Campus - Venue). The bus will depart from the Lobby of the Hilton Hotel (Makarios Avenue) and will arrive in the University of Cyprus (New Campus). On Tuesday, 25th of April at 19:00 the bus will depart from the Lobby of the Hilton Hotel (Makarios Avenue) and will arrive in Solomos Square which is near to Kathodon Restaurant where the Conference Dinner will be taking place.

Furthermore there are two bus routes connecting University of Cyprus (New Campus) with the city centre. Both bus lines circulate from Monday to Sunday. The price for a single route is €1.50 (day bus) and €2.50 (night bus: after 21.00). A daily ticket for unlimited journeys costs €5.

  • OSEL Buses Route 150: UNIVERSITY OF CYPRUS - PLATY AGLANTZIAS - SOLOMOS SQUARE. This route serves Classic hotel (Solomos Square stop) and also passes by Hilton Hotel (Makarios Avenue).
  • OSEL Buses Route 259: GERI - UNIVERSITY OF CYPRUS - SOLOMOS SQUARE - UNIVERSITY OF NICOSIA - MAKARIO BUS STATION. This route passes by University of Cyprus (new campus), by Hilton Hotel (Makarios Avenue) and Solomos square which is close to Classic hotel..
